44 Chapters About 4 Men by B.B. Easton

44 Chapters About 4 Men44 Chapters About 4 Men by B.B. Easton
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I was sent this book from the publisher/publicity team. My ratings and reviews will be my own personal opinions and are in no way influenced by publishers or authors who may have sent me books to review.

I am not one to normally grab for a memoir, especially when I am not too familiar with the author. However; I have seen this one everywhere lately and also heard it is going to be made into a TV show/Movie (not 100% sure which one). I decided to give it a go.

This was definitely funny and entertaining. I wanted a little more around certain stories, so I was excited to learn about the additional books following each relationship/man involved with this one. I found some relationships more entertaining than others when it came to story telling.

I did listen to this on audiobook. I loved how the narrator brought the sarcasm alive in the story. It made it even better experience while reading.

Overall, this was fun and I look forward to reading more from BB Easton.

I know I am late to the game with this one. I am not sure why I never grabbed for it. This series has been very hyped up in the bookish world, so I was worried I would not enjoy it as much.

I thought this was a really cute and fun read. It was exactly what I needed right now. It was light hearted and did not have any deep deep emotional triggers. I loved how Drew and Alexa meet and how we get to see the relationship develop.

Overall, this one was fun!

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I was sent this book from the publisher/publicity team. My ratings and reviews will be my own personal opinions and are in no way influenced by publishers or authors who may have sent me books to review.

When this first started, I really thought it was going to be a thriller mainly around a kidnapped child. However; this was more of a story around infidelity. If you do not like reading stories around cheating, you will not like this one. It also touches on grief and other missing children (very broad and nothing too graphic; more so a look into the parents of missing children).

There really was not too much action in this one. It was fast paced and I actually read it in one sitting. It did keep my attention, but I wanted a little more out of it when it came to the action. I started to piece together the big plot twist around the half way point, but only parts of it. I did not see one aspect of it and how it all came together in the end which was nice.

Overall, this was a pretty good read.

A Witch in Time by Constance Sayers

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This does deal with triggers such as rape, sex, abortion, demons, and more.

This is told between present and past times. I was really enjoying the past chapters more so than the present at first. When the story jumps to another time, I started to lose a little interest. It was interesting, but nothing was really happening to keep my attention. I needed something more! The middle was just too slow and I found myself skipping to the present chapters to find out how everything was going to unfold.

I was expecting Helen to have more magic or have something happen. This is really just Helen looking back at her life to figure out what has happened. There is little to no actual magic, very little around the demon, and very little around the supernatural aspects to the story.

Overall, this was ok. It was just missing that extra something for me.

I was super excited for this one! I had heard it was a romance like I had never read before. I was not really sure what that meant, but you will get what everyone means as soon as you jump into this one.

This is a love story, but a little backwards. It is a story of remembering why you love your significant other and falling back in love with them. It is a story about not giving up and throwing in the towel and working through the hard stuff.

Naomi was a little annoying in the beginning, especially when you really get to see how Nicolas is making an effort to show her love. The ending was also a little rushed. Otherwise, I had a lot of fun with this one and really enjoyed it.

This one is not for me, but sounded really interesting. I still wanted to give it a try and was really excited, but it did not capture my attention like I wanted too. This is just a personal preference. I know others will love it.

This is the third book in the series, but it can be read as a standalone. I do wish I would have started from the beginning though. I am not really sure why I could not get into this one. I tried picking it up so many times, but it was just not clicking with me. I decided to just call it quits. I may try the audiobook though as I do prefer reads like this sometimes over reading it physically.

Sunrise on Half Moon Bay by Robyn Carr

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was sent this book from the publisher/publicity team. My ratings and reviews will be my own personal opinions and are in no way influenced by publishers or authors who may have sent me books to review.

I am a huge fan of Robyn Carr and was very excited to check out her brand new story, Sunrise on Half Moon Bay. I love her contemporary romances, and this was no exception.

This story is following two sisters, Adele and Justine. It is a story about second chances. I loved how we really get to see the relationship develop between the two sisters. This story does deal with some heavier topics as well (domestic violence), so be mindful of that when jumping into this one.

I enjoyed this one. The pacing worked for me and it was a quick read. I can usually read Robyn Carr’s work in one sitting, and that is exactly what happened with this one too. There were some parts that were a little too repetitive, but they did not take away from the enjoyment of the story.

Overall, this was another great story and I definitely recommend giving it a try.

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

An Ember in the Ashes (An Ember in the Ashes, #1)An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have been putting off reading this series until all of the books were out. I also really have to be in the mood for fantasy. It was finally time to give this one a try!

First off, I instantly fell in love with Laia and her story. I was really not interested in the trials. The only thing that kept me reading this one was to see what happened with Laia and Elias. Laia was facing so much, and it just captured my attention so much more than the other stuff going on. The romance lover in me also loved every scene when Laia and Elias were together.

Overall, I enjoyed this one more than I was expecting though. I will definitely be picking up the next book soon!

On the Rocks by Kandi Steiner

On the Rocks (Becker Brothers, #1)On the Rocks by Kandi Steiner
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have been putting off reading this series until all three books were out. I knew I would want to binge read them, as Kandi just has a way of making you fall in love with her characters. On the Rocks was exactly what I needed right now with everything going on in the world.

I really loved the romance between Ruby Grace and Noah. I did want a little more around the bad boy Noah though as you really do not get much about his back story (besides with his family). Speaking of family, I really enjoyed how positive Noah and his family life was portrayed. He had a positive relationship with both his mother and deceased father. The little glimpses we get into this story were very heart warming.

This one is hard for me to explain. So much happens with Ruby Grace, but not much really happens within the story at the same time. I do not know how to explain that though. I am really happy to know there are several more books following the brothers though. You get very little of them within this story and I was expecting a little more buildup.

Overall, I still really loved this one and cannot wait to jump into the next one.
