To Catch a Killer (Erin Blake #1)To Catch a Killer by Sheryl Scarborough
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I have really been getting into true crime, so this caught my attention just based on the synopsis and title. It ended up being a pretty decent read.

This was definitely a YA mystery. I did not really think it was a thriller though. This really focused on forensic evidence more so than things happening constantly. It was still fast paced and kept my interest though. If you love hearing about DNA and forensic evidence, you will love it.

Overall, this was ok. I would love more around the murder of Erin’s mother. That would make a great adult thriller.

Mind Games by Nancy Mehl: Book Review

Mind Games (Kaely Quinn Profiler, #1)Mind Games by Nancy Mehl
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love when a book catches me by surprise, and that is exactly what happened with Mind Games by Nancy Mehl. I was sent this as part of a review tour and I was really interested in reading it. However; once it showed up I just never wanted to pick it up. I knew I had to give a chance and get my review completed, and when I finally picked it up I was blown away. I loved it.

If you love suspense novels, you need to give this one a try. It is hard to really pinpoint why I loved this without getting into the plot and the twists and turns along the way. I do not want to put any spoilers, so just go give it a try.

I had read a few reviews that noted this was the best Nancy Mehl book so far, so I am so glad I started with this one. I need more from this author ASAP.

Lord of Shadows (The Dark Artifices, #2)Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I was a huge fan of the previous series and even Lady Midnight. I am not sure what happened with Lord of Shadows, but I just could not get into the story. I never take several weeks to read a book, but this took me over a month. I never found myself wanting to pick it up. I feel nothing really happened, and it just dragged on. The story jumped around too much to really get captured into what was happening next. This just fell very flat for me. I pushed through as I have come too far to give up now. I am hoping the third book is better!

Indivisible by Travis Thrasher

IndivisibleIndivisible by Travis Thrasher

I have not seen anybody talking about this book, and I only found out about it after I saw the movie trailer which included two past characters from Greys Anatomy. When I saw it was a book, I knew I wanted to pick it up before jumping into the movie.

The book was ok. I had a hard time connecting with the writing and the characters. I found myself skimming parts of the story. I was expecting somethink a little different than what was delivered. I am still going to check out the movie eventually though, as I still enjoyed this. I just did not love it.
