The Things We Leave Unfinished by Rebecca Yarros

The Things We Leave UnfinishedThe Things We Leave Unfinished by Rebecca Yarros
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I was sent this book from the publisher/publicity team. My ratings and reviews will be my own personal opinions and are in no way influenced by publishers or authors who may have sent me books to review.

Rebecca Yarros is one of my all time favorite authors and I will read anything she puts out. I was really excited for this one.

I am not sure why, but I just had a really hard time getting into this one. This is really two love stories in one. I found myself liking the sections more about the current romance with Noah and Georgia. I found the flashback scenes hard to stay interested in for some reason until more towards the end of the story. I think it was almost too much disconnecting the two stories even though you know why they are connected (if you read this, hopefully it will make sense).

I do feel this picked up towards the second half and the end. Where I was having a hard time picking this up at first, the second half I did not want to put down.

Overall, this was still enjoyable but I did expect a little more.

Make Me Hate You by Kandi Steiner

Make Me Hate YouMake Me Hate You by Kandi Steiner
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I love Kandi and can easily say she is one of my favorite authors. Sadly, this one just did not stand out to me. It was great but just pretty standard when it comes to long gap romances.

I was annoyed that after seven years there was jealously around having other significant lovers and also that it felt they both moved on. They should, it was seven years. I heard this one was heart breaking, but I did not get that at all. Our main character does have a sad past as a child, but there really are not enough details to make it super emotional.

Again, I enjoyed this for what it was but it was not a stand out for me.
