I cannot even lie on this one, this cover immediately pulled me in. I requested to review this before I even knew what it was about. The cover is just stunning, which I think is important as it will draw others to grab for it as well.
Historical fiction is one of those genres that are hit or miss for me. I need a little bit of the historical feel, but enough modern day feelings to keep my interest (if that even makes sense). This ended up surprising me and I really ended up enjoying it.
This did take me a little longer to get through than it normally takes me to read through a book. It was more about my personal preference in a fast paced read, and nothing against this story. I found myself reading large sections at once, but then putting it down to come back to it later. It was just not something I wanted to rush through. I wanted to take in all of the story.
Overall, Red Sky Over America is another book that really surprised me. I love when I step out of my comfort area and find a winner! I recommend this, especially for historical fiction fans!
