If you follow my reviews, you know fantasy books are hit or miss for me. Sometimes I love them, and other times I will DNF. When I was asked if I wanted to review The Tiger’s Daughter, I was a little intimidated. This is over 500 pages and fantasy. However; when I heard it was a YA/Adult crossover I knew I still wanted to give it a try as most fantasy is usually young adult.  I was excited to see where this would go.

I was not expecting the diversity within this story. This is actually a LGBT novel as well. Again, I knew little about this going into it, and I was not expecting that. I liked the development between the love interests and think it brought something very different to the typical fantasy read.  

This was pretty long.  I did find certain parts a little dragging, and found myself wanting to skip ahead. I did like this was heavy on the romance between Shizuka or Shefali.

There were times I was not really sure what was going on. The story is also told within several letters.  I normally love this in a story, but I also felt like skimming over these as I read as I found them repetitive.  

Overall, this was ok. I think you would really enjoy if you love fantasy.
