The Two of Us by Victoria Bylin: Book Review

I was sent this book from Bethany House Publishers.  This does not sway my review.

Synopsis:

"Nurse practitioner Mia Robinson is done with dating. Instead, she's focused on caring for her patients and her teenage sister, Lucy. Mia is shocked when she learns Lucy is pregnant and plans to marry her boyfriend. She s determined to stop the wedding, but she wasn't expecting best man Jake Tanner a handsome police officer with a wary heart so like her own."

MY REVIEW:

My Rating: 4 Stars

Thank you to Bethany House Publishers for sending me this for review.

“Life exploded all around them in colors and sounds as ordinary and spectacular as a sunset.”

I will admit, this was a cover read for me.  I was not expecting much, but it blew me away.  The writing style was amazing.  There were so many amazing quotes in just the first few chapters that I wanted to share them all.  The writing itself will pull you in and you will not want to put this down.

Amazing writing aside, the plot was also really good.  This will instantly pull you in and grab your attention.  Cancer, dog rescues, Alzheimer’s, loss, love, and so much more.  There were a few times the story started to drag, but then something else would come your way to pull you back in.

I also like the message about God and believing in the path He has set out for each of us.  I think this was really well done, and used exactly at the right times within the story.  I found myself really enjoying the spiritual message within in this book.

Overall, I really enjoyed this and look forward to reading some other work by Victoria Bylin.
