Family of His Own is actually the 8th book in a series.  I have not previously read any of the other books as this can be read as a standalone.  This starts off talking about past drug raids, a kidnapping, and new loves.  It made me instantly want to start this series from the beginning and I may pick up the first book in the future.
This story focuses on Scott and Isabelle.  This starts off with the couple being more friends as their relationship has not really developed into anything series.  I just loved Scott, but it was hard for me to get into the story as I did not like Isabelle…at all!   However, I loved the writing style and everything else going on with the plot.

I am very happy I pushed through the beginning.  I just loved Scott.  I was expecting children to enter into the story based on the cover, but I did not think it would be the way that it happens.  I loved the way the author can get you caught up into her story.
Overall, I really enjoyed this and I look forward to reading more from this author!
