It's Always The Husband by Michele Campbell: Upcoming Release with Review

I was sent this book from St. Martin's Press under no obligation.  Please see below for additional disclaimers.

How Much is it?
It's Always The Husband can be found for $17.70 on Amazon, here.

What's it about?
"Kate, Aubrey, and Jenny. They first met as college roommates and soon became inseparable, even though they are as different as three women can be. Twenty years later, one of them is standing at the edge of a bridge . . and someone else is urging her to jump.

How did things come to this?

As the novel cuts back and forth between their college years and their adult years, you see the exact reasons why these women love and hate each other—but can feelings that strong lead to murder? Or will everyone assume, as is often the case, that it’s always the husband?"

MY THOUGHTS:
My Rating: 3 Stars
Format: Paperback

Thank you to St. Martins Press for sending me a copy of this for review purposes. I love reading debut authors.

It took me awhile to get into this book. It starts off introducing you to three friends, and you have a lot of building with these relationships while in college. It is very slow paced and not much happens in the first few chapters. I found myself walking away from this during this part of the book. However; I pushed through and I am happy I did. As the story continues you will run into twists and turns that bring the excitement back to the story.

I did like how you got to know the characters including how and when they met, and you get to see them from college age into adulthood. This kept me guessing on on what would happen next and I am happy I gave it a chance.

Overall, I think it was a decent debut book from the author and I am interested in seeing what she will come out with next.
