I was lucky enough to review some previous works by Robyn Carr and I loved them. When I saw she had a new book coming out, I knew I wanted to read it. I was even more excited when I got to review an ARC copy.
The Family Gathering is actually the third book in the Sullivan Crossing series. However; I read this as a standalone. There is just something special about her writing and the stories she develops. The Family Gathering was no exception. I loved how this story resolved around a retired Army Ranger, Dakota Jones. He has always had a hard time making connections, but has come home and starts to build relationships with his extended family. I really enjoyed the family aspect within the story.
My only critique around this one is that I wanted more! It was really good and I just did not want it to end. I actually have not read the previous books in the series, so I will be going back and starting from the beginning.
Overall, another amazing read and I cannot wait for more.
